Surgical Hole After Skin Cancer Removal:
This challenging hole resulted after Mohs surgery to remove a skin cancer from the tip of the nose. Almost all of the nasal tip is gone plus an area on the left rim of the nose referred to as the soft triangle.

Plastic Surgical Reconstruction by Dr Hussain:
I did not feel a skin graft would provide the best outcome in this case. I also discussed the possibility of a 2-stage (forehead flap) procedure with the patient but she wasn’t keen on this option. I therefore made two vertical cuts along the side of the nose and advanced the skin of the nose forward to repair the wound as shown.

Long Term Result:
Large wounds on the tip of the nose are always tricky to repair but both the patient and I were delighted with the outcome of her Mohs surgery.
