Close-up: Long Term Result
Surgical Hole After Skin Cancer Removal:
This lady had a skin cancer removed with Mohs surgery which resulted in this oddly shaped wound involving the upper lip.
Plastic Surgical Reconstruction by Dr Hussain:
Despite the width of the defect, there was enough laxity in the surrounding skin to enable me to repair the wound in a primary, layered fashion. The top aspect of the scar is hidden around the right nostril.
Long Term Result:
The final result is very pleasing indeed. Importantly, the function of the lip was maintained and there was no restriction in mouth opening.
