Close-up: Long Term Result
Surgical Hole After Skin Cancer Removal:
This patient had a very large skin cancer removed with Mohs surgery on his right cheek.
Plastic Surgical Reconstruction by Dr Hussain:
The options for repairing such a large defect are fairly limited. A large skin graft would cover the wound but I felt would not result in a good cosmetic result for the patient. I therefore used the laxity of the skin in the neck and moved it around to cover the hole, in what is termed a ‘transposition flap’.
Long Term Result:
I am delighted that the patient was extremely pleased with the outcome as shown here.
