Close-Up: Long Term Result
Surgical Hole After Skin Cancer Removal:
After Mohs surgery, this patient had a significant hole on his right upper lip, just beneath his nose.
Plastic Surgical Reconstruction by Dr Hussain:
To keep the scars within the cosmetic unit of the upper lip, I performed a flap often referred to as a V to Y advancement. This flap moves the skin beneath the hole, to the right of the lip and slides it across to cover the wound. In order to make the scar less noticeable, I performed a technique referred to as Z-plasties to break up the scar.
Long Term Result:
Even this early post-operative picture highlights a good cosmetic outcome.
